Photographing the same child from Elementary School to High School Senior
Featuring the "BEST OF" the Rowan Tree Photography shoot archives: This feature is Anna, who I photographed from 2011 through her senior year (and even in the three years since with her siblings)! Her mom is a former co-worker who gave me a chance way back when I was starting out, and she has had photo of the kids done every single year since through 2025. I am very grateful to my long-term clients for trusting me for so many years.
I loved doing Anna's shoot and of course wanted to make them spectacular for her. We started out her senior session at Perry Nature Area near Sioux Falls and Brandon, SD. She wanted some images with water, grassy fields and flowers in casual outfits. Next up we headed to the Washington High School track in Sioux Falls to get a few shots, as she was and still is a track and cross-country runner. For a different look, we went to downtown Sioux Falls for fun photos in interesting spots with cute clothing choices. Toward the end the session, we got a ton of shots in a very quick amount of time to beat the sunset. Her long green dress was an excellent choice with the moody, woodsy setting.
