There's a myth that boys hate senior portraits. In my experience, that's totally not true.
They don't hate doing senior photos, they just don't want to feel awkward. I've photographed enough seniors to know how to make it enjoyable. I will lead the session with clear direction. And if he has ideas too, even better! When he is in his element, he cnan just be himself, and if he's doing something he loves, confidence and natural energy show up. Confident boys, shy boys, creative boys, driven boys...they all get their moment.
